The new model will be positioned one step below the Karoq crossover in the model lineup. The official debut of the Skoda Kosmiq is scheduled for the first months of next year. The car's exterior will echo the Vision X concept shown in the photo.
The new crossover is based on the MQB A0 platform, which is already used in a number of compact and mid-size cars of the concern, from the fresh Volkswagen Polo to the Skoda Kodiaq. The wheelbase is expected to be 2645 mm.
Under the hood, three powertrain options will be offered. The base will be a 1.0-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine producing 100 or 120 horsepower. Additionally, a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 150 hp will be available. Diesel enthusiasts will be offered a version with a 1.6-liter diesel engine.
