The Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept features a special trailer and a sliding mechanized roof for storing and transporting the Planewave telescope, as well as other astronomical equipment. It also has an additional battery pack that can power the devices.

The concept car is also equipped with a Wi-Fi wireless internet access point and a television radio transmitter, thanks to which scientists can broadcast their observations live.

Compared to the standard pickup, the new model features an increased ground clearance of 140 mm, as well as 20-inch off-road tires. The Nissan Navara Dark Sky Concept is powered by a standard 2.3-liter turbodiesel producing 190 hp and 450 Nm of torque.

In addition, the prototype's equipment includes the proprietary ProPilot semi-autonomous driving system, a surround-view function, and a blind-spot monitoring system.
