The new Supra is expected to get an inline turbocharged six-cylinder engine, with the motor at the front and rear-wheel drive. According to rumors, the powertrain will be borrowed from BMW, and its output will be approximately 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque. Such a coupe will accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in about 4.5 seconds.
Earlier, information appeared that the Supra will be available exclusively with a preselective robotic gearbox. The initial modification of the sports car will be equipped with a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 250 hp.
Later, a hybrid powertrain will be based on this engine. In addition, a more aggressive GRMN version of the coupe is also planned.
In the range of the Japanese brand, the new model will be positioned one step above the GT86 and will become the company's flagship coupe. The car will be sold under the new Gazoo Racing sub-brand.
