There is no official data on future models yet, but information has leaked into the Japanese press that engineers plan to significantly add power to the sports cars and increase the volume of the previous two-liter engine to 2.4 liters.

It is quite possible that for GT86/BRZ they will not develop a new power unit, but will use the ready-made 2.4 turbo engine from the Ascent crossover, developing 264 hp.

But the debut of new generations of sports cars, according to forecasts, is not soon. It is expected that the premiere of the second generation Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ will take place no earlier than 2021.
