The series of concept cars built on the basis of the Atlas crossover has expanded with the Atlas Tanoak pickup truck. It complemented the Atlas Cross Sport concept, which was also presented at the auto show in New York. At the same time, Tanoak, unlike Cross Sport, looks more futuristic and massive.
The pickup stands out not only for its exterior design, but also for its interior. In the cabin of the show car, the center console has changed, a new steering wheel and automatic transmission selector have appeared, as well as richer trim.
Under the hood of the pickup is a 3.6-liter FSI V6 engine with 280 horsepower, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission.
The Atlas Tanoak is designed specifically for the American market, where the Amarok pickup is not sold. Serial production of this model will begin next year.
