Despite its concept car status, the new Insight looks quite production-ready and for the first time sports a sedan body, and with a strict design that is quite unusual for this model.
The Insight's interior is styled after the new Accord and boasts a digital instrument panel and an 8-inch multimedia system screen.
Predictions regarding the powertrain did not come true; instead of the expected two-liter engine, the model received a more compact 1.5-liter engine, which is assisted by an electric motor.

The manufacturer has not yet decided to disclose the power of such a hybrid system, but has shared information about efficiency. The new Insight consumes about 4.7 l/100 km in the combined cycle, which is almost a liter less than the previous generation hatchback.
Production of the Honda Insight hybrid will be moved from Japan to an American plant in Indiana. The timing of the production version's appearance and prices have not yet been published.
