Volkswagen representative Martin Hube told journalists that the company is indeed working on creating a "charged" modification of the Arteon, which is expected to carry the traditional R index.
Under the hood of such a version will be a three-liter turbocharged V6 engine developing 410 horsepower, as well as permanent all-wheel drive with the latest modification of the Haldex coupling.
At the moment, more detailed technical information is not available, but Hube added that Arteon R owners will be able to easily overtake any Porsche Panamera they encounter on the road.
