The special version of the Roadster will receive a more powerful powertrain and, according to Tesla CEO Elon Musk, will accelerate more dynamically than the standard modification, which reaches 100 km/h in less than two seconds. However, the company has not yet disclosed exact performance figures.
The production of the launch series will be limited to one thousand cars, and the price of the Tesla Roadster Founders Series will start at $250,000 — that's $50,000 more expensive than the regular version.
You can place a pre-order right now, but the first production Roadsters of the new generation will not reach their owners before 2020.
