The Terra concept car, first shown to the public at the Paris Motor Show in 2012 as a hydrogen show car, became the subject of a patent application by the Japanese manufacturer last week.

This led British commentators to think that the forgotten concept will eventually get a production version, but under the hood will be not a hydrogen powertrain, but an electric motor.

The basis for the future electric crossover will be the new generation Leaf, the premiere of which is scheduled for early autumn. According to preliminary data, the Nissan Terra will be able to travel up to 500 kilometers on a single charge and will compete with the Jaguar I-Pace, while remaining more affordable in price.
