The new concept car is built on the modular MEB platform, which is also used in the previously announced electric prototypes Volkswagen I.D and I.D. Buzz.
The I.D.Crozz features two electric motors, one on each axle, with a combined output of 306 horsepower. The stated range without recharging reaches 500 kilometers. The prototype's top speed is limited to 180 km/h.
The powertrain and battery packs are designed to be as compact as possible, allowing for significant free space in the cabin.
The production version of the I.D.Crozz crossover is scheduled for 2020.
