BMW CEO Harald Krüger said that the company intends to regain leadership in the premium segment, which is currently held by Mercedes-Benz. According to him, the Bavarian brand expects to reclaim the top spot.
Over the past year, BMW's investments in research and development and innovation exceeded 5 billion euros, which corresponds to 5.5% of total revenue. In the future, the company plans to increase funding for these areas.
It is worth noting that out of the 40 upcoming premieres, only a part will be completely new models — the majority will be represented by updated versions of already produced cars.
Currently, only two new crossovers have been officially announced — the X2 and X7, but details about them remain under wraps.
