Information has leaked into the British press that Tesla has begun developing the compact crossover Model Y.
The new electric car will debut in 2018, and its basis will be the Model 3 hatchback (pictured), whose serial production is scheduled for the end of the current year.
The future electric crossover will feature the same doors with a lifting mechanism as the larger Model X, and will receive the current version of the autonomous driving system.
Journalists have not yet been able to find out either the technical details or the approximate price of the Model Y.
