The hybrid powertrain of the i8 model is planned to be boosted to 377 hp, which is 15 hp more than the previous figure. Exact dynamic characteristics are kept secret, but it is expected that the updated coupe will be able to accelerate to 100 km/h faster than the previous 4.4 seconds. The range is intended to be significantly increased by installing a new set of improved batteries.
Also in 2018, BMW will present an open version of the i8, but details about the future convertible are not yet disclosed.
