As expected, the Golf's exterior has not undergone any major changes. The facelift only touched the bumpers and slightly modernized the front and rear lights, which can now be fully LED.

Inside, attention is drawn to the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, well known from the Passat, and the new Discover Pro multimedia system with gesture control, as well as support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The "smarter" autopilot has learned to move in traffic jams and "monitor" pedestrians, and its radar has moved from the front bumper to the top, behind the brand's emblem.

A newcomer has appeared in the engine lineup – a 1.5-liter TSI engine with 150 hp and 250 Nm of torque, which on average consumes less than 5 liters of gasoline. The power of the GTI version has been raised to 230 hp (+10 hp), and its more "charged" Performance modification produces as much as 245 "horses" (+15 hp).

The new generation of the seven-speed DSG "robot" should eventually completely replace the six-speed version.
