The fifth "Micra" received a completely redesigned exterior, executed in the signature V-Motion style. The model's appearance gained more aggression and dynamics, and the hatchback itself became longer, wider, and lower, which allowed increasing the interior space.

The interior also underwent a dramatic transformation. The driver's seat is now positioned lower to increase headroom, and the new dashboard shaped like a glider, according to the developers, creates a feeling of "energy and spaciousness" in the cabin. The model's sound insulation was also significantly improved.

The new Micra now offers electronic assistants that monitor lane markings, road signs, and blind spots. Additionally, the new model can be equipped with the Intelligent Emergency Braking system with pedestrian recognition. The extensive list of equipment has been expanded with surround-view cameras, a 7-inch monitor, a Bose audio system, and other options that were previously available only for cars of a higher class.

The engine lineup of the new "Micra" includes a 90-horsepower three-cylinder turbo engine with a displacement of 0.9 liters and a 1.5-liter diesel with similar power. Over time, they will be joined by a naturally aspirated gasoline engine with a displacement of 1 liter, producing 73 hp.

The fifth generation Nissan Micra will be produced at the Renault plant in Flins, France. Sales in Europe will begin in March 2017.
