Better to drive once than to hear a hundred times - this is exactly the approach that was the basis of the Kia Media Drive 2016 event, which brought together representatives of Ukrainian automotive and business media for the first introduction to the new Kia Optima sedan.
The highlight of Kia Media Drive 2016 was the test drive of the new model, which gave guests the opportunity to experience the new generation car right after the press briefing. In addition to the new Kia Optima, the test drive also featured Kia's bestseller in Ukraine, the new Sportage, the premium Kia Sorento, and the updated Kia cee'd 2016 model year.
The test route, which included both regular roads and high-speed sections of the Boryspil highway, allowed to fully appreciate the work of the sedan's updated suspension, its economical 1.7-liter diesel engine with 141 hp, and the latest seven-speed DCT robotic gearbox with dual clutches.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian sales of the Kia Optima have already started. The sedan offers customers almost perfect design, the authors of which received the prestigious iF Design Award in the field of industrial design.
Thanks to the extensive use of high-strength steel and special structural adhesives, as well as modern active and passive safety systems, the new Kia Optima received 5 stars for safety from EuroNCAP and the Top Safety Pick+ award from IIHS.
Even in the base Comfort trim, the new Optima has excellent equipment, which includes: seven airbags and electronic assistants - electronic stability control (ESP), brake assist system (BAS), anti-lock braking system (ABS) and hill-start assist control (HAC).
The set of "comfort" options is also impressive, including the Super Vision instrument cluster, dual-zone climate control, cruise control, heated front seats and steering wheel. A pleasant atmosphere in the cabin is created by an audio system with six speakers and the ability to play audio files via Bluetooth protocol.
The fourth-generation Optima concentrates the most relevant technologies of Kia Motors. Depending on the trim level, Ukrainian Optima buyers will have access to a wireless charging device for mobile devices, similar to the one installed on the new Kia Sportage, the Drive Mode Select system, which allows you to choose engine and transmission operating modes, a multimedia navigation system with premium Harman/Kardon audio equipment, and much more.
Prices for the new generation Kia Optima are set in the range of 747,000 - 918,810 UAH. The sedan is offered in three trim levels.
