The model debuted at the auto show in China (at the Beijing Auto Show), where it will initially be sold. But over time, the Japanese intend to supply the new model to other markets, including Eastern European countries.
The CX-4 is built on the Mazda CX-5 platform. Compared to the "donor", the new crossover is 78 millimeters longer and 130 millimeters lower, with no differences in wheelbase. However, the ground clearance is 14 mm more - 196 millimeters.
For the CX-4, two gasoline engines are provided with a volume of 2.0 L and 2.5 L, producing 157 hp and 191 hp, respectively.
The coupe-crossover received the i-ACTIV AWD plug-in all-wheel drive system and the i-ELOOP kinetic energy recovery system, which accumulates energy during deceleration to power the air conditioning system and lighting.
