The car without camouflage was captured by spy photographers during preparations for an official photo shoot.

Despite the fact that the Prius was photographed from a distance, you can make out the silhouette of the car and the shape of the headlights. The production hybrid resembles the model's renderings that had already been published online earlier.

In addition, the paparazzi managed to take a few more photos where the car is covered with camouflage.

Most likely, the new Prius will be built on a modular platform and will get a powertrain that includes a 105-horsepower 1.8-liter gasoline engine and a 90-horsepower electric motor. The hybrid will be offered to consumers in two versions, one of which will have the ability to recharge batteries from a household power outlet.

As experts suggest, it is possible that the new generation may have all-wheel drive and a wireless charging system.

The world premiere of the Prius is expected in October at the Tokyo Motor Show. The model should go on sale in 2016.
