The new model will be shown to the public either at the end of this year or at the beginning of next year.
Initially, the German brand wanted to give the model the name Q2, but it already belongs to Fiat Chrysler Automobile, and Audi failed to reach an agreement to buy the rights to this name.
The car will apparently be produced in Germany. It is likely based on the Volkswagen Polo platform, and the body length will not exceed 3.8 meters.
In addition, the compact crossover promises to have decent ground clearance. The Audi Q1 engine lineup will include 1.4-liter petrol engines and diesel units. The most powerful version, SQ1, will be equipped with a 231 hp engine. A hybrid version with a 1.2-liter internal combustion engine and an 80 kW electric motor is also possible.
