According to TASS, citing AvtoVAZ president Bo Andersson, the Russian manufacturer intends to release a batch of pre-production Vesta cars in the near future.
Bo believes that this model should become "the best Russian car in 2015". The company will spend 5 billion rubles on the Lada Vesta project itself.
25 cars will be manufactured as part of the production development and launch program for the new model. And the Vesta should go into series production already at the end of September. Production is planned to be set up at the facilities of the Izhevsk Automobile Plant. Pilot Lada Vesta cars are being manufactured at AvtoVAZ's pilot industrial production.
The very first Lada Vesta car, assembled at the end of 2014, is undergoing winter testing in Germany - to fine-tune ABS and ESP.
