The head of research and development at the German automaker, Ulrich Hackenberg, believes that customers want to see a TT crossover.

One of the "off-road" TT concepts was taken as a basis. It was already shown this year. In January 2014, the three-door allroad shooting brake concept was presented in Detroit. It is equipped with a hybrid powertrain with a total output of 408 hp. Its design includes a gasoline "turbo-four" and two electric motors. One with a power of 40 kilowatts, and the second (on the rear axle) 85 kilowatts, a set of lithium-ion batteries and a six-speed e-S tronic transmission.

The first showing of the five-door TT off-road concept prototype took place three months later, but already in Beijing. It received a similar powerplant, accelerating the car to a hundred kilometers per hour in 5.2 seconds. If Audi's management approves the production of the "off-road" TT, its pre-production version may be shown as early as 2015.
