According to Western publications, the design of the Ford Explorer will be in the spirit of the new Ford Edge. The car will get a new radiator grille, front and rear lights, bumpers, wheel rims, and will also be equipped with LED fog lights in the style of the Edge crossover.

Changes will also occur in the interior, in particular, a modernized SYNC infotainment system, other trim materials and color schemes will appear.

The current 2.0-liter engine will be replaced by a 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine. The seven-seat version, as before, will be offered in rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive modifications.

The debut of the updated Ford Explorer is expected to take place at the January motor show in Detroit. The premiere of the new Audi Q7 will also be held there, with which the Ford SUV will compete for customers.
