The next "mid-range" option is the 228i. It has the same 2 liters of displacement, but power has grown to 245 hp. It reaches 100 km/h in 6 seconds.

There is also a diesel version with 190 hp. Here, the main priority is efficiency: 4.1 liters per 100 km.
