The excise tax on gas is being restored at 52 euros per thousand liters. For alternative fuels, the excise tax and VAT also return to the level of 100 euros per thousand liters. Separately, the excise tax on gasoline and diesel fuel is being restored — also 100 euros per thousand liters. At the same time, the government initiative provided for maintaining a reduced VAT rate on fuel: 7% instead of the standard 20%.

How will this affect the average car owner, who during this year has already experienced the fuel crisis firsthand and remembered what it's like to spend a whole day filling up the car instead of five minutes?

Serhiy Kuyun, director of the consulting group A-95, believes that after the restoration of excise taxes, the cost of petroleum products at gas stations will not change. A similar position was voiced by the Minister of Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov, whose department initiated the bill.
