The bill, which introduces amendments to the law "On Road Traffic," proposes that cars older than four years undergo technical inspection. It will be carried out once every two years, and for commercial vehicles – once a year. In addition, technical inspection will be required when re-registering or converting a vehicle, as well as after serious accidents. It will be conducted at authorized service stations.

A novelty will be the so-called roadside technical inspection. The bill proposes giving the police the right to stop vehicles for inspection.
Moreover, for these purposes, 30 special Renault Master vans were purchased, equipped with devices for measuring the light transmittance of tinted glass, noise and smoke levels, headlight brightness, and steering wheel play.

If malfunctions are found during the inspection, the movement of the vehicle may be restricted or prohibited. The fine for lacking a technical inspection will be 1700 hryvnias.
