Patrol cars that are impossible to notice among regular traffic are the so-called "phantom patrols." They have no special markings: no inscriptions, no flashing lights. The cars move in the general flow and record the speed of other road users.

This practice has long been widespread in many European countries. In Ukraine, the launch of a pilot project is planned for this year. As reported by the head of Ukrinfraproject, Kyrylo Khomiakov, at the initial stage, four Skoda Kodiaq cars were purchased, which will later be converted for the needs of the patrol service.

The phantom patrol system will fully begin to function in Ukraine in 2021. It is planned that about 150 such cars will circulate on the country's roads.
