The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Police reported that the launch of automatic traffic violation recording has been postponed again indefinitely. The reason is that the relevant departments did not manage to prepare the necessary documents by the previously announced dates.
Earlier, it was planned that cameras on Ukrainian roads would start operating as early as summer 2016. By June, the Cabinet of Ministers expected a draft resolution "On Approval of the Procedure for the Functioning of the System for Recording Violations in the Field of Road Safety." However, this document is still not ready and has not been coordinated with central executive authorities.
As noted by the head of the Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Vladyslav Kryklii, many different options for the system's operation are currently being considered. When exactly automatic recording of traffic violations will begin to operate remains unknown.
