In the rating compiled by ACEEE, this car outperformed four hybrid models at once, including the Toyota Prius and the related Civic Hybrid. The organization's specialists determine the most environmentally friendly car based on data on the fuel consumption of each participant and the volume of harmful emissions. That is why the Prius, which consumes less fuel but is equipped with a conventional gasoline engine, is only in second place. However, among cars with traditional engines, it is the Prius that is recognized as the cleanest.

In addition, ACEEE also publishes a list of the "dirtiest" vehicles of the year. The leader of this list was the diesel VW Touareg with a 10-cylinder engine. It is followed by the Bugatti Veyron, Mercedes-Benz GL 320 CDI, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Lamborghini Murcielago, Mercedes ML and G55 AMG, Hummer H2, GMC Yukon, as well as two Bentley models — Azure and Arnage.
