At the same time, a number of manufacturers, including BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Stellantis, Toyota and Volkswagen Group, refused to sign the Glasgow Declaration on Zero Emission Cars and Vans.
According to The New York Times, the reason for the refusal was that the terms of the agreement oblige companies to invest significant funds in new technologies, while not receiving guarantees from the authorities regarding the creation of the necessary infrastructure for charging electric vehicles.
