For comparison, the "official" range of the Renault Zoe is 394 km according to the WLTP cycle (the car uses a 52 kWh battery), which is almost half the record set by the British organization Mission Motorsport. However, it was not without certain "tricks" – the run took place under conditions different from typical operation.

Firstly, the Zoe was fitted with special "electric car" Enso EV tires with low rolling resistance – in fact, the run was dedicated to testing them. Secondly, the test itself took place not on public roads but on a track. Finally, the speed was far from cruising – to achieve the maximum possible range without recharging, an optimal average speed of 30.57 km/h was chosen. However, for city driving, such a speed is quite sufficient.
"This new world record proves that our ultra-energy-saving tires [ENSO tires – ed.] for electric vehicles play a huge role in solving the problem of limited range... They provide ultra-low energy consumption, which not only saves costs and electricity but also allows for a significant increase in range...", commented the event's CEO of ENSO, Gunnlaugur Erlendsson.
It is worth noting that the Renault Zoe is the most popular electric car in Europe based on sales results in 2020. During that period, the hatchback sold 99,432 units. For context, the second place was taken by the Tesla Model 3 with 85,979 cars sold, and the top three was closed by the Volkswagen ID.3, with 54,495 purchases.
In Europe, prices for the Renault Zoe start at just under 30 thousand euros.
