The Holden brand includes the Acadia and Equinox SUVs, the Astra hatchback, and the Commodore in liftback and wagon body styles. At the same time, earlier, at the end of 2019, the discontinuation of the Astra and Commodore was already announced, and now it has become clear that GM will also abandon the SUV lineup. By the way, the last Holden plant ceased operations back in 2017, and since then the company has shifted to importing cars from abroad.
Holden had been manufacturing cars in Australia since 1948, and the final Commodore sedan, which left the assembly line in October 2017, turned out to be the 7,687,675th example. Before the production halt, a special Motorsport Edition modification was created. This four-door vehicle was equipped with a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 gasoline engine producing 413 horsepower and 570 Nm of torque.
