The niche car was based on the platform of the fifth-generation Golf and was produced from 2008. In addition to the regular version, the hatchback was offered in the stylish GTS trim (shown in the photo) and in the "hot" R modification, equipped with a turbocharged engine producing 265 horsepower.
Although a direct successor to the model did not appear, the Scirocco name may in the future be transferred to a new electric vehicle in a sports coupe body style. However, the manufacturer has not yet announced even approximate launch dates for such a car.
