The enterprise in the suburbs of Melbourne produced Japanese models since 1963, having produced a total of 3,451,115 Toyotas over 54 years. The last model to come off the plant's assembly line was the hybrid version of the Camry sedan (pictured).
The cessation of production was caused by the unprofitability of local vehicle manufacturing, which resulted in losses for the company.
The enterprise will be converted into an educational and production complex.
