Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche (pictured) said that this service campaign is aimed at reassuring diesel car owners and reducing tensions related to the investigation into possible violations regarding harmful emissions.
At the same time, the company insists on its innocence in the latest "dieselgate" and intends to defend its position in court.
According to Daimler's estimates, recalling cars in Europe will cost the concern 220 million euros.
