Mercedes-Benz announced the laying of the first stone of the Moskovia plant, which will produce E-Class sedans, as well as GLC, GLE and GLS crossovers.
A new assembly plant will be built in the Moscow region on the territory of the Esipovo industrial park. Investments in the project amounted to more than 250 million euros.
The plant will organize a full production cycle, with the manufacture and painting of bodies, and not just simple assembly from ready-made parts.
The first model to roll off the Moskovia assembly line in 2019 will be an E-class sedan. Then they plan to master the production of GLC, GLE and GLS crossovers.
