The American agency responsible for road safety has identified a malfunction in the seat belt locking mechanisms. Due to this defect, the buckle may spontaneously unfasten under significant load, for example, during emergency braking or an accident.
As part of the service campaign, 978 thousand Sonata cars will be recalled, including modifications with a hybrid powertrain, produced between 2011 and 2015.
