The implementation of the project to build a car plant in Russia will require over 250 million euros in investment. The key partner in this endeavor is KamAZ. Construction of the facility will start this year at the site of the industrial park "Esipovo", located in the Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region.
For Mercedes, this enterprise will be a landmark — the thirtieth in its global production network. The production of the first cars with the three-pointed star emblem is scheduled for 2019. At the initial stage, the assembly line will produce E-class sedans, as well as one of the models with increased cross-country capability — most likely, the GLA crossover.
