The list includes five candidates: BMW 330e iPerformance, Chevrolet Bolt, Chrysler Pacifica, Kia Optima, and Toyota Prius Prime. Except for the Chevrolet Bolt electric car (pictured), all contenders are hybrids.
The final choice will be made by a jury, which includes the famous showman and car collector Jay Leno, as well as Jean-Michel Cousteau (son of the famous ocean explorer Jacques-Yves Cousteau). The winner will be announced on November 17 at the motor show itself.
Last year's Green Car of the Year was the hybrid hatchback Chevrolet Volt.
