The Mercedes-Benz eEconic has a two-speed gearbox. The truck is driven by 2 electric motors at once. In standard mode, they provide power up to 300 kW, and at peak load it can increase to 400 kW. To power the electric motors, 3 batteries are installed. They can be recharged not only from the grid at a charging station, but also while driving by enabling the recuperation mode. This is very important, because the same garbage truck operates in a cycle with frequent stops for loading household waste near each house.
Mercedes-Benz engineers also took special care of driver comfort. The eEconic truck received a lowered cab, which improves visibility in urban conditions.
