On the secondary market of Ukraine, in the budget up to $8000, there are models that combine a low price with high liquidity. In August 2026, Lanos, Octavia, Golf, Focus, and Astra entered the top ten models by the number of internal resales.

Data from a previous AUTO.RIA study also show that these models had a relatively low average annual rate of residual value decline. For Lanos it was 2.8%, Focus - 7.3%, Octavia - 7.61%, Golf - 7.96%, Astra - 8.04%.

Cars up to $8000 with high liquidity on the secondary market

For the selection, models were taken into account that are actually available in this budget in 2026 and remain among the most frequently resold in Ukraine.

1. Daewoo Lanos 2006-2012

The Daewoo Lanos remains one of the most liquid budget cars. In August, 2175 resales of Lanos and related models were recorded - the second result on the Ukrainian market.

2. Skoda Octavia A5 2008-2012

The Skoda Octavia took third place with 2109 resales. On AUTO.RIA in September, the Octavia A5 2009-2012 is offered, in particular, for $7000-7950.

“As age and mileage increase, all cars become cheaper, but not equally,” notes the author Oleksii Astapov.

3. Volkswagen Golf VI 2009-2012

The Volkswagen Golf changed owners 2072 times in August. Moreover, demand grew by 2.4% per month and by 0.8% per year. The Golf VI in the budget up to $8000 is widely represented on the Ukrainian market.

4. Ford Focus 2008-2014

The Ford Focus, with a result of 1023 resales, also made it into the market top ten. In the previous study, the average annual decline in its residual value was estimated at 7.3%.

5. Opel Astra J 2010-2014

The Opel Astra completed the August top 10 with 885 deals. For the Astra, the previous study recorded an average annual decline in residual value at the level of 8.04%.
