Gasoline cars are getting more expensive, electric cars are getting cheaper
Most notably, since the beginning of the year, prices for cars with gasoline engines have increased — their value index rose by 7.4% and in June amounted to 120.6. Compared to the same period last year, such cars have become more expensive by 8.2%. Diesel models also added in price: their index reached 113.5, which is 2.2% more than in January.
Hybrid cars showed only a slight increase — plus 0.1% since the beginning of the year, and their index in June stopped at 108.5. In contrast, electric cars lost in value: since January, their index has remained almost unchanged (minus 0.2%), but over the annual period the drop was significant at 8.3%.
Moritz Lück, Senior Vice President of AUTO1 Group, notes that the market is currently at a stage where prices are stabilizing at a fairly high level, and buyer interest in gasoline cars continues to grow.
It should be emphasized: both before the start of the full-scale war and now, used cars from Europe are imported to Ukraine almost every day. Demand for European cars with mileage remains traditionally high, and price fluctuations in EU countries directly affect how much such cars cost on the Ukrainian market and how affordable they are for buyers.
