AUTO-Consulting has found out the starting prices for new car models with automatic transmissions, CVTs, and robotic gearboxes.
An automatic transmission, as well as a continuously variable transmission or a robotic gearbox, greatly simplifies the driver's life. Especially in the city, with frequent stops, when you constantly have to press the clutch pedal and move the manual gearbox lever. At the same time, an "automatic" is not such an expensive pleasure, and today such a transmission can be found even on new budget cars for about $10,000.
The most affordable new car with an automatic transmission in Ukraine for many years has been the city Uzbek hatchback Ravon R2. Prices for this model under the credit program "Ravon Credo" start from UAH 264,100. For this money, you get a car with a 1.25-liter gasoline engine producing 85 hp and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
But Ravons are already running out. They are being replaced by Uzbek Chevrolets. In fact, these are modernized Ravons under a different brand and name. Therefore, it is no coincidence that the second most affordable car with an "automatic" in Ukraine could be the Chevrolet Spark. It has the same 1.25-liter gasoline engine producing 85 hp and a 4-speed automatic transmission as the Ravon R2. But it already costs more - from UAH 296,900.
Therefore, between these two Uzbek cars, the Russian Lada Granta is placed. The reputation of "automatics" from the Russian Federation is a debatable issue, but judging by the fact that they are present in offers, there are those who want them. The price for the sedan starts from UAH 286,200 for a car with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 98 hp and a 4-speed automatic transmission.
There are still other models of "Ravons" from previous years on the market, as the importer has created large warehouses in Ukraine. Many probably remember how many years Uzbek Daewoos were sold off in their time. Therefore, today it is not difficult to find a Ravon Nexia R3 2020 model year. This is, in fact, an Uzbek Chevrolet Aveo with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 106 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. It costs from UAH 293,800.
And for the new generation of this model, which is now called Chevrolet Nexia, the price is almost UAH 50,000 more. For a car with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 106 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission, prices start from UAH 342,500.
It is precisely in this 50-thousand gap that two French models fit, which also do not have a clutch pedal. They have robotic gearboxes.
These are the Renault Sandero hatchback with a 0.9-liter gasoline engine producing 90 hp and a 5-speed robotic automatic transmission. Under the "Renault Bonus" program, the price for it starts from UAH 333,600.
And also the Renault Logan sedan with the same 0.9-liter gasoline engine producing 90 hp and a 5-speed robotic automatic transmission. It is slightly more expensive. Under the "Renault Bonus" program, prices start from UAH 334,100.
If you search, you can still find Ravon R4 from previous years with a 6-speed automatic transmission. Under the credit program of "Kredobank", such cars of 2020 model year with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 106 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission are offered from UAH 297,800. These are also warehouse leftovers, because in parallel we already have a new generation of Ravon R4 for sale. It is called Chevrolet Cobalt, has the same 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 106 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission, but prices start from UAH 348,500.
A good choice is the Renault Sandero Stepway crossover with a 0.9-liter gasoline engine producing 90 hp and a robotic 5-speed automatic transmission. Under the "Renault Bonus" program, it today costs from UAH 370,400.
The only available model with a CVT variator is the Chinese crossover JAC JS2. It is offered with a 1.5-liter gasoline engine producing 105 hp. Today, the promotional price for the car is from UAH 394,500.
Among the affordable models with an "automatic", we can also include two sedans of the well-known fraternal French brands. These are the Citroen C-Elysee with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 115 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Prices for it start from UAH 451,500.
And the Peugeot 301 with the same 1.6-liter gasoline engine producing 115 hp and a 6-speed automatic transmission. Prices for this model start from UAH 482,900.
As we can see, in the budget segment, cars with an "automatic" are mainly 4-5 seat models. But these are new cars with a manufacturer's warranty, which, moreover, can be purchased on credit.
