Last month, the new generation Renault Clio managed to overtake the German model in the sales ranking. These data are provided by the analytical agency JATO Dynamics.

The leader was Renault Clio with a result of 24,914 cars sold — this is 4% lower than the figures of February 2019. The second position was taken by Volkswagen Golf, which sold 24,735 units, losing 21% compared to last year. At the same time, the current Clio has been on the market longer than the eighth-generation Golf, whose sales volumes are just beginning to grow.

The top three was closed by the new Peugeot 208 — 20,923 cars sold, which is 7% more. The fourth place goes to Opel Corsa with 18,406 units (+7%). The fifth spot was taken by Fiat Panda, whose sales amounted to 17,680 cars, and the dynamics turned out to be the strongest among the leaders — plus 10%.

Speaking of the entire European passenger car market, in February it shrank by 7% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1,063,264 units sold. Thus, this month became the worst for the market in the last five years.
