The Renault-Nissan Alliance, which recently also includes the Mitsubishi brand, managed to surpass the Volkswagen Group in sales for the first time in 2017.
Last year, the combined sales of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi reached 10.61 million passenger cars, which is 6.5% better than the results of 2016.
The Volkswagen Group also managed to improve its sales by 4.3% and sold 10.53 million cars, but this was not enough to maintain the first position.
Third place goes to Toyota – 10.2 million cars (+2.1%).
