The German automaker intends to invest 100 million euros in the creation of a testing center in the Czech Republic, which will be located on a site of 500 hectares. The road from the head office in Munich to the new proving ground will take no more than 2.5 hours.
The need for a separate site for testing autonomous and electric cars arose due to a noticeable increase in the share of such models in BMW's lineup. By 2025, the Bavarian company expects to release over 10 new electric vehicles.
