During the negotiations, representatives of the companies noted that their more intensive partnership does not mean merging the brands into a single automotive holding, nor does it infringe on their independence.
The main priority is the launch of a joint venture in the United States, where production of Toyota Corolla sedans and Mazda crossovers is planned. It is expected to invest $1.6 billion in this project, with an annual production volume of at least 300 thousand vehicles.
In addition, the partners intend to actively cooperate in the field of electric vehicles, as well as work together on the creation of new safety systems, including technologies for autonomous driving.
