In June, the primary registration market showed a 53% growth compared to May, as reported by the association "Ukravtoprom".
In the passenger car category, 5,038 registrations were counted in June, of which 257 were used cars imported from abroad. They accounted for 5% of all sales in this segment.
Compared to May, the primary market for used passenger cars grew by 20%, but compared to June last year, it dropped by 80%. Over the first six months of the current year, the share of used cars in the primary market reached 11%. In total, 3,515 such cars were registered during this period, which is 37% less than in the same period a year earlier.
According to expert forecasts, in July and August, demand for used cars will grow even more than in June. Some owners will decide to sell their cars to bring newer models from Europe. Others, who are skeptical about such trips and do not plan to go abroad, will, on the contrary, take advantage of the hype and the expected drop in average prices on the Ukrainian used car market.
