The production capacity of the new plant is designed to produce one hundred thousand cars annually. This figure was announced by the head of Primorsky Krai, Vladimir Miklushevsky.

The agreement of intent to organize joint production in Vladivostok between Sollers and Mazda was signed at the end of November last year. Initially, the talk was about more modest volumes — from 25 to 50 thousand cars per year, and the start of assembly was planned for September or October of this year. It is known that the Far Eastern site will produce two models of the brand — Mazda6 and another one, the name of which is kept secret.

The volume of investments in the joint project is estimated at about 80 million dollars.

Mazda predicts that by the end of 2012, car sales on the Russian market will grow by twenty percent and reach 48 thousand units.
