The VAZ-2115 model became the "senior" in the Samara lineup: its serial production at the Volzhsky Automobile Plant began in 1997. The car is a restyled version of the VAZ-21099. The "fifteenth" differs from its predecessor by a different trunk design, new rear lights, front and rear bumpers, as well as a spoiler on the trunk lid. The interior of the model underwent radical changes compared to the 21099 — a new instrument panel and center console were installed, and the quality of trim materials and seat upholstery was improved.
The car is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, which works in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission. Drive — front.
