In 2005, the Volzhsky Automobile Plant started production of an updated version of the three-door hatchback 2108, which received the index 2113 Samara. The car's front part was changed, while the other elements remained unchanged compared to the classic "eight". Inside, many parts from the previous model were retained, but the dashboard was borrowed from the "older" versions — 2114 and 2115.
Initially, the car was equipped with a 1.5-liter injection gasoline engine that met the Euro-2 standard. Since 2007, it was replaced by a 1.6-liter engine with Euro-3 emission standards. Both units work in conjunction with a five-speed manual transmission. Drive — front.
